We’re excited to announce our newest feature: Chat with your videos. Now you can have natural conversations with AI about any video in your Sumdown library.

The Problem We’re Solving

You’ve just read a video summary and have questions. Maybe you want to know:

  • “What exactly did they say about that framework?”
  • “Can you explain that concept in more detail?”
  • “Did any other video in my library cover this topic?”

Before, you’d have to re-watch the video or manually search through transcripts. Now, you can just ask.

How It Works

When you open any video in your library, you’ll see a new Chat button. Click it to start a conversation.

Ask anything about the video:

The AI has access to the complete transcript of the video you’re viewing. Ask follow-up questions, request clarifications, or dive deeper into specific topics. The AI answers based on what was actually said in the video - no hallucinations, no made-up facts.

Search across your entire library:

Here’s where it gets powerful. If the answer isn’t in the current video, the AI can search across your entire video library to find relevant information.

Asked about a concept that was covered in a video you watched months ago? The AI will find it and cite the source.

Smart, Not Spammy

Unlike basic chatbots that search on every question, our AI is intelligent about when to search. Simple follow-up questions get instant answers from the current video. Complex questions that need more context trigger a smart search across your library.

You’ll see a “Searching library…” indicator when the AI is looking through your other videos, so you always know what’s happening.

Grounded in Your Content

Every response is grounded in your actual video content. The AI will:

  • Always cite its sources: “In this video…” or “In [video title]…”
  • Never make up information
  • Tell you honestly if something isn’t in your library

This isn’t general-purpose ChatGPT. This is AI that knows your video library intimately.
